From kids crafts, to Santa Claus, it was a festive night in Town Square Park as the City of St. George kicked off the holiday season with its annual tree lighting celebration.
With a little help from the North Pole to get things started right, this annual illumination of downtown St. George with holiday lights, got attendees into the Christmas spirit as they celebrated the beginning of the holiday season.
The tree burned brightly creating an impressive display as the crowd was treated to live Christmas carols sung by Fossil Ridge Intermediate Show Choir and Horizon Elementary School Choir.
The lighting ceremony also featured free hot chocolate, kids’ crafts, and admission into the St. George Children’s Museum. For $1, participants could also ride the St. George Carousel which was open throughout the evening.
Christmas in Town Square Park will continue each evening through Thursday. Each night will have its own unique flavor and fun with Santa at the carousel and performances by high school choirs, crafts, games and a light parade.
